5 Core Service Ministries

Our Leadership Development committee wanted to make service as simple as possible. That’s why, we invite everyone in our church to participate in one of our 5 core service opportunities.

We believe everyone in this church can do one of these five things. You can read about each one below. 


Music and A/V Volunteers

Our music and audio/visual team are essential leaders in the praise of our worship service. Whether you have your own musical talents – or a passion for supporting those who do – you help unite our voices in the worship of God

  • Time Commitment
  • Weekly Rehearsals and worship services. About 2 hours a week.
  • Two hours a month for A/V volunteers.
  • Primary Responsibilities
  •  Attend weekly rehearsal of band or choir
  •  A/V volunteers for contemporaryare invited to attend rehearsal for their assigned weeks
  • Resources and Trainig Provided:
  • Training with Minister of Operations or
  • Practice with Music Directors


Prayer Chain

Our prayer chain serves the church by praying weekly for its ministries, and by taking to pray immediately when urgent prayers come in. Prayer chain members receive prayer requests from the church’s phone chain, or from a text message from the Pastor

  • Time Commitment:
  • 15 minutes of prayer each day
  •  Primary Responsibilities
  • Pray for church prayer list
  • Pray for the weekly prayer prompt sent by the pastor
  • Pray for urgent and immediate prayers that are sent by prayer chain and text message from the church. 


Group Leader

Whether with children, youth, or adults, group leaders unite our church in discipleship

  • Time Commitment/Primary Responsibilities
  • 1-2 hours of class when meeting
  • 1-2 hours of preparation before class
  • Resources and Training Provided:
  • For children and youth – curriculum provided by ministry director
  • For adults – Gameplan for Small Groups


Worship Volunteer

 The Worship Volunteers unite our church by making sure that our service flows as smoothly as possible and that all visitors feel welcomed

  •  Time Commitment:`
  •  About 1.5 hours a month
  • Primary Responsibilities
  • Arrive 30 minutes before worship to greet, hand out bulletins, and take care of any final preparation
  • During worship, assist in the offering and communion and other rites
  • After worship, remain for about 15-20 minutes to set up for next week.

Soup Kitchen Volunteer 

The Soup Kitchen Ministry extends the hospitality of the church to our community by serving a hot meal in a welcoming environment to anyone in need.

  • Time Commitment:
  • A volunteer in the soup kitchen can expect to commit $10-20 dollars and 4-6 hours per month for preparation, service, and cleanup. 
  • Primary Responsibilities
  • Volunteers to the Soup Kitchen are assigned to a team and work one Saturday per month to prepare and serve lunch in the Fellowship Hall for our 60-80 visitors. Preparing for the soup kitchen includes planning a menu as a team, then purchasing the necessary food supplies, cooking the food, and bringing it into the church kitchen. During the meal, volunteers will serve food and clean up afterwards, but can also take time to socialize and enjoy lunch with our visitor
